Built to screen out the world the Makena North course is an out and back design leaving you alone to just play. Bring the camera and some batteries you will need them.
From the frequent beverage carts to the staff, you will feel the Aloha from the North's dedicated associates. Customer focus is the trademark of the Makena resorts and they have no problem expressing it.
The North course has the best weather of all courses on the island as the trade-winds keep the rains away. I wonder does it get any better than this as it seem every hole was a portrait first then the golf course was built to match its perfection. Views of Haleakala, the Pacific Ocean and breaching Whales await you in this secluded slice of paradise. The course is located in a yet to be developed area of the island. This makes it hard to come up with excuses for duffs and off hits.
The course play to all levels and will even play well to big hitters as long as the control is there also. Precision placed bunkers seem to be at the end of every shot testing your use of your clubs and ball control. Heavy trade in the afternoon dance above your head waiting to push your ball off its intended path.
With Makena North beauty, seclusion, and natural views it is hard to have an upsetting game on this course.
Best tee times here are usually about mid morning, the air will still be cool, the trades will be calm, the course will be dry, and the greens will be fresh cut.
The Pro Shop here has some of the Islands best food, take time after a round to enjoy the views.
