Waiehu Municipal golf course and Country Club is a diamond in the rough among Maui's famous golf courses. Reviews say, it is a locals course, a hackers course, but all say one thing the same "It is affordable".

Located directly against the ocean on the windward side of Maui, the views are excellent. You even get to hear the waves crashing as you try to sculpt your shot against the ever changing wind.

There are no bunkers to speak of so your most challenging hazard is the wind and the layout. Holes play both into and with the wind. Fairways run tight on the front nine holes but widen out on the back nine. I love this course since it is relaxing, cheap, and pretty decent for a course as heavily played as it is.

Best tee times are in the AM on weekdays and in the mid day on weekends. This course is the most played course on Maui so tee times really are hard to get.
